Hello, and welcome back! I am looking forward to another great school year!
All IBMYP students have started off the year examining the water crisis in Africa. The 6th grade students have been researching the water crisis in general and some possible solutions. They will be creating a Prezi to share their new-found information. The 7th grade students are focusing on the choices we make that impact water usage. They will be informing others via a public service announcement. The 8th grade students are examining water purification methods and will create a water purification system.
We have watched videos, researched on computers, gone on a water walk, and have been visited by a guest speaker. All three classes will be participating in a walk-a-thon on October 20th to raise money to rehabilitate a well in a village in Kenya. Our goal as MYP students is to raise $1000!!
Check back in soon to see our progress!
I am excited to be beginning my third year as the IB Coordinator at Kellogg School. In addition to coordinating, I am teaching Design to all Level 1, 2, and 3 students and an algebra course to selected 8th grade students.
